Museums in the Hague

The Hague is a city with a great variety of museums, ranging from exhibitions on the storied history of the City, all the way to to contemporary visual art institutions such as “West Den Haag” located in the former American Embassy.

There really is a little something for everyone to see and enjoy.

If you are interested in checking out the museums in The Hague, we highly recommend getting a Museumskaart!

The Museumskaart is an annual membership subscription which gives the holder unlimited free entry to over 400 participating museums in the Netherlands, including many in the Hague and cultural hotspots like Leiden and Amsterdam (some museums/exhibitions may require a small supplementary fee).

  • Child (0-18 years) = €32.45
  • Adult (18+ years) = €64.90

You can register for a Museumskaart on the official website but there are a few things to keep in mind.

  • The website is only avaliable in Dutch (although the Google translate chrome extension does well to translate it).
  • Online purchace is only avaliable to dutch residents through iDeal.

It is still possible to register for a temporary Museumskaart if you are not yet an official resident in the Netherlands.

Before using your Museumskaart for the first time, it must be activated by the museum you are visiting.

Some museums also sell the Museumskaart over the counter.
